Building Activation and Neighbourhood Ideation
Invited by Hong Kong Design Centre and RIBA to temporarily reactivate Po Wah Building that is being redeveloped by Swire Properties. Our idea is to go through a 5-step neighborhood ideation process to listen and prototype what the community desires. First, using the art installation to raise awareness of the redevelopment, then, create opportunities of community ideation of people’s wish and memory of Wan Chai. Next we explore if some of these can become concepts to be prototyped. Many local residents only noticed that the building is being redeveloped by the art installation, and are very willing to engage in discussions about the past and future of the neighborhood.
